First, I would like to wish you a SUPA FANTASTIC New Year !!!!
Mine started quite good ’cause I flew to a warm caribbean place, Guadeloupe. I was never been there before but I was always dreaming of it, smooth atmosphere, paradisiac colours and Rum power !
The first week was really incredible, we had wind every day and I discovered many insane spots. The most famous, Bois Jolan, is a very safe place, just a bit busy but the water is flat and the wind is steady.
One of my favorite place was Salines, a On Shore spot with small waves (= good kickers), incredible colours and fabulous waves close to the reef.
But, the perfect freestyle spot for me was ‘Pointe des Chateaux’, with a small small lagoon very shadow and for sure incredibly flat. Through the small mountains and the big waves outside, this spot is one of the best for photo shooting.
The second week, the wind unfortunately left, but it was a good opportunity for surfing waves ! I started surfing when I was child, I grow up in front of the mediterranean sea in the South of France, but the waves were pretty small and I could never improved my level. SO I was very happy to discover some perfect waves to progress here ! Ok, some spots are more dangerous cause they are reef waves and you don’t have to fall too deep… But ‘Le Helleux’ or ‘Port Louis’ are amazing place for surfing safety !
After some nice parties and chilling day, it was already time to fly back home where the snow started to fall ! But, luckily, 2013 is only starting and I just booked my ticket for another kiting place… See you in 2 weeks in South Africa !!!
